ChatGPT Now Available On WhatsApp No Account Needed

As part of its innovative "12 Days of OpenAI" announcements, OpenAI, the AI platform backed by Microsoft, has introduced ChatGPT on WhatsApp. This feature lets users access ChatGPT straight from the messaging app without the need to create a separate account or use an additional application.

Global Availability and Access

  • The service is available everywhere, including India. This is because ChatGPT now responds to the user queries through WhatsApp.
  • To start using ChatGPT, simply send a message to the number +1-800-242-8478.
  • Voice-based interaction is also supported, allowing users to call the same number to access ChatGPT.

Current Limitations

  • Presently, these services are officially restricted to users in the US and Canada.
  • While ChatGPT is accessible on WhatsApp without requiring an additional account, there are daily usage limits. Users are notified when they reach the limit.

Upcoming Features

OpenAI plans to enhance the ChatGPT experience on WhatsApp with features like:

  • Search capabilities.
  • Image-based interactions.
  • Conversation memory logs.

Competition with Meta

Meta also offers AI chatbot services on WhatsApp. To compete, OpenAI’s ChatGPT rollout aims to make AI more accessible to users worldwide by integrating directly into a platform they already use daily.

This expansion brings OpenAI closer to its goal of simplifying access to artificial intelligence while enabling meaningful conversations on WhatsApp.
