Lets Move Forward With The Inspiration Of The Great Ones CM Chandrababu

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to establish a Telugu University in the name of Potti Sriramulu. He revealed that a statue of the freedom fighter would be installed in Amaravati, alongside a memorial building to honor his sacrifices. Further, Potti Sriramulu's house in Nellore district would be developed as a memorial, and the 125th birth anniversary of the legendary would be grandly celebrated. Speaking on the occasion of "Potti Sriramulu Atmaarpanam – Emergence of Language-Based States" event at Vijayawada, Chandrababu stressed Potti Sriramulu's importance to the Telugu society. The deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan and other high officials joined him to pay their homage to the freedom fighter.

Chief Minister hailed Potti Sriramulu as an inspirational figure who laid down his life during a 58-day hunger strike for the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He also paid tribute to leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, PV Narasimha Rao, and NTR for their contribution to India and the Telugu people.

Historical Struggles of the Telugu Nation

Chandrababu pointed out that it was not easy for the Telugu people to get the linguistic states formed. He said that he was recounting how, after years of striving and Potti Sriramulu's sacrifice, Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1953. He also reminded the Sribagh Agreement, which settled the capital in Kurnool and the High Court in Guntur.

Talking about subsequent movements such as the 1969 Telangana agitation and the Jai Andhra movement, Chandrababu claimed NTR had managed to unite the Telugu people through setting up a Telugu University and erecting statues of heroes in Hyderabad. Chandrababu complained that the previous government had cancelled his projects for developing Potti Sriramulu's birthplace. This included erecting a memorial and basic facilities.

Challenges in Seemandhra’s Unity

Chandrababu said that in the initial agitation for a separate Telugu state, there was no unity in the Seemandhra region. He remembered that the Dhar Commission's report in 1948 rejected the need for a separate state because of regional disunity. It was only after Potti Sriramulu's martyrdom that the movement gained momentum. Chandrababu said that for the creation of a Telugu state, people even gave up the city of Madras.

Vision for Swarnandhra-2047

The Chief Minister sought public cooperation for the state's development, stating the need for unity and vigilance. He said the state's growth rate after 2014 was 13.5% but pointed out that the present government had stopped projects like Polavaram and stalled the development of Amaravati. Chandrababu revealed plans to have "WhatsApp governance" to provide better services and announced a package of Rs. 4,000 crore for rural development.

He called upon the public to remember both the sacrifices and mistakes of the past, advising them to stay alert against divisive conspiracies and self-serving leaders.

Potti Sriramulu is a Symbol of Sacrifice and Pride - Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan described Potti Sriramulu as a leader of national significance, whose sacrifices transcended caste and class boundaries. He acknowledged that Sriramulu's hunger strike ultimately led to the formation of a separate Andhra state, despite opposition from national leaders like Nehru. Pawan Kalyan also commended Chandrababu Naidu's leadership and expressed optimism that the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 would help the state achieve progress beyond caste and religious divisions.

Key Attendees and Their Contributions

Dignitaries such as Ministers K. Atchannaidu, P. Narayana, along with other leaders, gracing the event emphasized and voiced that unity and growth will help in achieving and materializing the state's plans.
