He critically spoke against the previous YSRCP government, focusing on the issue of agricultural sector by highlighting how they forgot to provide the machinery to the farmers. He spoke to the same issue during his participation as a chief guest for Sankranthi celebrations in Vigyan University, Vadlamudi, Guntur district. The event also saw a presentation of awards, jointly announced by Rythu Nestham Foundation and Vigyan University, honoring the contributions of farmers.
The minister spoke to point out that the coalition government is keen to take focus to agriculture. Mechanization in agriculture will be promoted, and his government proposed integrating drone technology into farming in such a way that increased efficiency and productivity will be ensured.
On developing modern technology among the agricultural forces, the government is trying, he said on soil testing especially. Organic cultivation is showing favorable results, wherein vegetables are demanding more, whereas the demand in the market from the farmers perspective is increasing daily. To achieve this, tools and machinery necessary for agriculture cultivation will be brought to the disposal of the agriculturalists at their subsidized rates only, he observed.
Innovative measures that include drones as well as organic farming form a focus area in the coalition government's plans as it promises to revive agriculture along with bringing challenges to the notice of the farmers of Andhra Pradesh.
