Maharashtra Deputy CM Addresses Marathi Community Concerns
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has condemned the attack on a Marathi family in Kalyan, Thane district. He stated that disrespect towards Marathi people will not be tolerated. He assured the public that strict action has been taken against those involved in the incident. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also addressed the Legislative Council, emphasizing the state government's commitment to safeguarding the dignity of Marathi people.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Shinde declared, "The honor of Marathi people is our priority. Those who insult us will face consequences. Shiv Sena was established by Bal Thackeray to protect the rights of the Marathi community, and we will uphold this legacy."
As the police continue probing into the attack, an employee of the government along with his wife has already been booked for attacking a Marathi family over a neighbourhood rivalry in Kalyan. The officials have also reassured that the perpetrators would be dealt with under law.
In response to a query about another incident of the youth wing members of the BJP vandalizing the Mumbai Congress party office, Shinde said the police were handling the issue. "No one is above the law, and sabotage has no place in a democracy," he quipped.
Shinde dismissed rumors of discontent in Shiv Sena with the cabinet formation. "We are working like a united family, and our work is dedicated to the people of Maharashtra," he clarified.
