Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Record Start In IPL 2026

Vaibhav Suryavanshi started his opening IPL 2026 match through outstanding performance. He scored his half-century after facing 15 balls during his match for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings.
This performance made him the youngest player to achieve the fastest fifty record in IPL history. He surpassed Travis Head Abhishek Sharma Suresh Raina and Ishan Kishan.

Match Preparation and Birthday Celebration

Suryavanshi announced that he dedicated all his time to match preparation instead of birthday celebrations which occurred on his 15th birthday. His birthday fell on March 27.

The team planned a small celebration.
He skipped it and went to bed at an early hour.
He needed to maintain his concentration for the upcoming match.

He explained that he did not want distractions before an important match.

Batting Approach During the Match

Suryavanshi followed a clear plan while batting.

He wanted to play his shots during the first Powerplay period. The pitch felt difficult at the start. Batting became easier as the ball got older.
He usually considers defensive play according to his statement. The team chose an attacking approach from the beginning in this match.
The target was small but the team stayed cautious. They believed tight bowling from the opposition could make the chase difficult. This led to a more aggressive strategy early in the innings.

Support from Teammates and Coaches

Suryavanshi received support from his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Jaiswal focused on rotating the strike. He encouraged Suryavanshi to play attacking shots. They communicated after each ball.

The coaching staff advised players to follow the merit of each delivery. They did not insist on attacking every ball.
