The Amaravati Legalization Bill which establishes Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh has been delivered to Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President will review the bill and consult legal experts before granting approval. The President will create law after he signs the bill into law.
The Parliament approved the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Bill 2026. The bill received five hours of discussion time between the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The two Houses approved the bill without making any changes.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat delivered the bill to the President after both Houses approved it. The government officials announced that the President would approve the request on that day.
