Andhra Pradesh LPG Supply Status And Government Directives
  • N. Chandrababu Naidu estimated that the state possesses enough LPG reserves to sustain operations for 15 days. He said that consumers do not need to worry about shortages.
  • The state currently possesses 14,000 tonnes of LPG. Visakhapatnam provides an extra 24,000 tonnes of LPG. The total supply increases and the distribution system becomes more effective through this development.
  • He ordered officials to concentrate on delivering natural gas that originates from local sources through pipeline systems. He stressed the importance of expanding the City Gas Distribution Network while increasing CNG usage.

Directions for Better LPG Distribution

The Chief Minister ordered several changes during a meeting with RTGS officials to enhance supply operations and make processes more transparent.

Key measures include:

  • Prevent black marketing by using e-KYC and OTP verification
  • The overall distribution process requires improvement
  • The gas cylinder delivery time needs to be reduced to 1.5 days
  • The system must provide continuous service to hospitals, hostels and temples
  • Induction stoves need to be made accessible for public consumption
  • These steps aim to maintain a stable and fair supply system.

Expansion of Piped Gas Network

A network of natural gas distribution throughout the state operates under the City Gas Distribution Network which multiple companies conduct.

  • AG&P
  • Bhagyanagar Gas
  • Green Gas Limited
  • Indian Oil Corporation
  • Megha Gas

These companies operate 198 CNG stations. The system has completed its development to accommodate 1.68 lakh domestic gas installations.

The government plans to expand piped gas services in Amaravati and other urban areas. Energy companies must collaborate with each other to enhance their infrastructure and service capabilities.

Traffic Awareness and Digital Services

The government intends to enhance public education through its Citizen Safety Awareness program.

Key actions include:

  • Send simple alerts to motorists about traffic violations
  • Expand access to the AP One app for electricity bill payments
  • Review how departments use Data Lake and AWARE applications

Use AWARE data to take early action on issues like:

  • Drinking water supply
  • Heatwave conditions
  • Fodder availability

Public Safety and Clean Andhra Initiatives

The Chief Minister directed officials to take strict action in key areas:

  • Enforce strict measures against crimes targeting women
  • Take strong action against drug use
  • Promote behavioral change among citizens

Under the Swachh Andhra initiative, the government will:

  • Conduct awareness campaigns in villages
  • Promote waste removal and waste segregation
  • Encourage reuse of construction and demolition waste through circular economy practices

These steps aim to improve public safety, sanitation, and sustainable resource use.
