The state of Bengaluru's roads has long been a point of concern. Biocon Limited founder Kiran Majumdar Shaw condemned the city's infrastructure, bringing the issue to the public's notice.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar responded to Shaw's comments with a touch of sarcasm. He told that if she wanted to develop the roads in the city, she could do it. As per him, the government would provide funds if she would go and ask them to repair the roads. Shivakumar also informed that the government has already allocated a huge budget for Bengaluru development.
The debate over Bengaluru's roads has gone beyond the state. A foreign tourist in Biocon Park recently wrote an online post regarding shame over the city roads and filth. The post went viral immediately, continuing the popular discourse.
Reacting to the allegation, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge stated that development works in Bengaluru are going full steam. He guaranteed that the government is implementing the required steps to enhance infrastructure.
Earlier, Rajesh Yabaji, the CEO of logistics firm BlackBuck, had also opined on the same matter, with a focus on proper maintenance and long-term fixes.
