Committee Formed To Monitor Cooking Gas And Essential Supplies

Government Steps After War Concerns

  • The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu issued his orders to state officials about maintaining cooking gas and essential commodity delivery systems throughout the state. The direction came in response to concerns related to the ongoing war situation.
  • The Chief Minister expressed that the state must prevent any supply shortages. The chief executive officer ordered all departments to watch their supply operations while keeping their operations under constant observation.

Three-Minister Committee Announced

The government will establish a three-minister committee which will oversee LPG stock management and vital resource distribution. The committee will track availability and supply across the state.

The ministers who form the committee include:

  • Nadendla Manohar – Civil Supplies Minister
  • Payyavula Keshav – Finance Minister
  • K. Atchannaidu – Agriculture Minister

The committee will examine existing supply conditions which will enable them to provide their updates to the government.

Review of LPG Supply in the State

  • The Chief Minister conducted an assessment of LPG stock and supply during the collectors' conference which took place on Wednesday. He ordered his staff to track ongoing LPG data through the RTGS system while sending government reports at scheduled times.
  • He also emphasized that LPG supply must continue without interruption in essential institutions.

The key instructions required organizations to:

  • Schools and hospitals need continuous LPG supply as their essential requirement
  • All districts need to keep enough stock of supplies
  • The organization must work with the central government to resolve any supply disruptions
  • The organization should respond immediately to any war-related distribution disruptions

Alternative Arrangements for Essential Items

  • The Chief Minister ordered district collectors to develop alternative supply methods which would provide essential goods including eggs and bananas.
  • He mentioned that Kurnool district administration has established operational systems which other districts can use as a framework. Other districts should adopt similar systems if needed.

Measures to Prevent Black Marketing

  • The government also plans strict monitoring of LPG cylinder distribution. The Chief Minister directed collectors to prevent diversion of cylinders to the black market.
  • Officials must remain proactive. They must track distribution channels and act quickly if irregularities appear.
  • The government stated that there is currently no shortage of LPG in the state. However, constant monitoring will continue to ensure stable supply.
