Government Advisory for Farmers
- The central government has advised farmers to complete the e-KYC process to receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The advisory has been issued before the program's 22nd funding installment will be released.
- The next installment will be released on March 13. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked eligible farmers to finish the e-KYC process soon. This step is necessary to ensure that farmers receive the funds without delay.
How Farmers Can Complete e-KYC
Farmers can complete the process through the official PM-KISAN portal. The portal provides multiple options for verification.
The available methods include:
- farmers can use OTP-based e-KYC by entering their registered mobile number
- Biometric authentication at authorized centers
- Biometric authentication through the government mobile application
- The verification process can be performed through these options which provide farmers with easy and straightforward methods to complete their verification requirements.
Upcoming Fund Release
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the next PM-KISAN installment during an official program in Guwahati, located in Assam.
- Approximately 9.32 crore farmers will receive ₹2,000 each through this funding installment which will be paid directly into their bank accounts.
Importance of Completing e-KYC
- The e-KYC process helps verify the identity of beneficiaries. The system prevents financial errors which would cause delivery problems to eligible farmers who qualify for PM-KISAN scheme financial assistance.
- Farmers who have not completed e-KYC are advised to finish the process as soon as possible to receive the upcoming installment.
