The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently revealed that the annual toll pass for FASTag can now be presented as a gift. The feature was launched during the Diwali season. The annual pass, which was launched by the Central Government to provide subsidized travel on highways, can be gifted using the Rajmarg app.
To give the pass as a gift, users need to go to the "Add Pass" option in the application and provide the vehicle number and contact details of the recipient. Upon OTP verification, the annual pass will be activated in the recipient's account.
The FASTag yearly pass is applicable at 1,150 toll plazas in India. It is valid for one year or 200 toll payments, whichever occurs earlier. This facility is applicable only for private non-commercial vehicles.
Subscribers have to pay ₹3,000 only once to use this pass. Once bought, it gets activated within two hours through the Rajmarg app. In the period since its launch on August 15, more than 25 lakh users have subscribed to the annual pass, and NHAI has so far recorded 5.67 crore transactions.
In another drive, NHAI has provided a ₹1,000 FASTag recharge incentive to drivers who report dirty toilets at toll booths. It is valid till October 31.
To complain, users have to upload a picture of the dirty toilet through the "Rajmarg Yatra" app. They will also have to give information like username, location, vehicle number, and mobile number. Complaints verified will be entitled to a ₹1,000 credit in the user's FASTag wallet.
