Indian MP Rajamahendravaram D. Purandeswari said India is a firm believer in the peaceful applications of nuclear technology. She spoke for the nation during the debate of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report in the United Nations General Assembly.
Purandeswari highlighted that India acknowledges the IAEA's central role in the safe and secure application of nuclear science and technology across the world. She added that India remains supportive of the agency's activities for the promotion of prudent nuclear practices.
She highlighted that nuclear power has numerous benefits. It facilitates sustainable development and enhances vital sectors such as public health, agriculture, and water resource management.
Purandeswari also underscored India's notable achievements in nuclear science and technology. She explained that the nation proactively collaborates with the IAEA through the exchange of technical information and experience with friendly countries.
