Minister Lokesh Highlights Employment Goals
- Nara Lokesh stated that creating 20 lakh jobs in the state must be the main objective. The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) new office was inaugurated by him when he delivered this announcement.
- The new office of the organization operates from its base at Mayuri Tech Park which is situated in Chinakakani close to Mangalagiri. The previous government failed to recognize the APEDB according to Lokesh who spoke to employees.
Investment Growth and Economic Progress
- The coalition government has succeeded in attracting major investments since Lokesh joined the government 20 months ago according to his explanation. Andhra Pradesh received almost 25 percent of the total foreign Direct investments which entered India during this time frame according to him.
- He mentioned that several global companies have selected the state for their operations including Google and ArcelorMittal and Tata Consultancy Services and Cognizant.
- The state needs to continue its existing progress while increasing its speed to attract additional investments according to him.
Focus on Job Creation and Project Execution
- Job creation needs to stay as the main goal according to Lokesh. He designated two main priorities which he needed to complete.
- The state needs to attract new investments which should happen simultaneously with project execution that has received prior approval.
- He stated that both of these actions need to happen because they will create jobs which will support ongoing economic development.
