Bihar election politics has spilled over to Karnataka. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the Congress government in Karnataka was utilizing the state's money to finance its Bihar election campaign. Karnataka's Congress government is allegedly using the state as an "ATM" to fund Bihar election expenditure, BJP leaders BY Raghavendra and Jagadish Shettar claimed.
MP Raghavendra BY alleged that a few ministers in the Karnataka cabinet have been giving money targets to government officers and channeling illicit funds to Bihar. This phenomenon, he asserted, has come under scrutiny for ministers in recent times.
Jagadish Shettar also made similar comments, saying that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a meal with cabinet ministers and spoke of election funding objectives. The two leaders accused Congress high command of lavishing Karnataka funds on the elections in Bihar.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah rejected all the claims. Talking to media personnel, he made it clear that not a single drop of Karnataka money had ever been spent in Bihar. He blamed the BJP for making false statements and attempting to pass on its own deeds to others' shoulders.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also refuted the allegations and dared the BJP to prove them. He claimed that the accusations were politically motivated and baseless.
Bihar Assembly polls will take place in two phases across 243 seats. The polls will be conducted on November 6 and November 11, and the results will be declared on November 14.
