Following the Kurnool bus accident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered a thorough inquiry. He conducted a video conference with Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and top officers of other states to analyze the accident. The CM directed officials to expedite the identification of victims and to offer immediate assistance to their families. The CM also insisted that the injured all get proper medical care.
CM Chandrababu directed checks on private buses to verify their fitness, safety norms, and validity of permits. He instructed officials to carry out technical checks in all districts so that such accidents will not take place in the future. The CM said that strong action will be taken against anyone who has been found to be negligent. He also sought a full report giving information on the registration, fitness, and permit validity of the private bus involved in the accident.
