Review Meeting on LPG Stocks and Supply

  • N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review meeting to examine LPG stock levels and booking systems and supply operations throughout Andhra Pradesh. The meeting included representatives from numerous gas supply companies who participated in the discussion.
  • Officials reported that the state currently holds 17,209 tonnes of LPG stock. The distribution network operates through 1,154 active distribution agencies. Officials received a request from the Chief Minister to explain all measures taken by officials to stop cylinder theft which leads to black market sales. He emphasized the need to prevent delivery personnel from using the products for unauthorized purposes.
  • He asked for information about LPG deliveries to Anna Canteens which serve affordable meals to the general public.

Instructions to Improve Supply and Avoid Public Confusion

The Chief Minister ordered officials to establish clear LPG distribution procedures which will prevent consumer confusion. He wanted the delivery process for cylinders to return to its previous time schedule.

He gave the following instructions:

  • The team needs to track LPG inventory throughout the day together with all booking activities and supply operations.
  • The organization needs to deliver products to its customers without any interruptions throughout the distribution process.

He instructed officials to ensure that essential services maintain their regular operations without facing supply problems which include:

  • Hospitals
  • Schools
  • Temples

Measures to Manage Demand and Future Planning

The Chief Minister proposed that hotel associations should work together with him to create strategies which will reduce their LPG requirements from the system. The organization plans to create an equilibrium between customer needs and essential service requirements which include residential and public service needs.

Officials announced that they will receive extra LPG resource distribution for

  • Andhra Pradesh
  • Telangana
  • Karnataka

The Chief Minister recommended that researchers should study alternative methods to power their operations. The research should focus on two areas which include:

  • Expanding pipeline gas connections
  • Promoting the use of induction stoves

These steps aim to improve long-term energy efficiency and reduce dependency on LPG cylinders.
