The Foundation Ceremony took place at Sitanagaram Mahanadu
Nara Lokesh who serves as a minister started construction work for a retaining wall project by placing its foundation stone at Mahanadu in Sitanagaram which belongs to the Mangalagiri constituency of Tadepalli town. The project addresses a long-standing demand from residents in the area. Mahanadu residents have been waiting to receive this development since multiple years.
The project works to deliver a commitment made during the election campaign. The project aims to strengthen riverbank protection and improve safety for nearby communities.
The state cabinet granted its approval for constructing the retaining wall project. The project will cover the stretch from 0.900 km to 2.610 km on the right side of the downstream area of the Krishna River near the Prakasam Barrage.
The government allocated a budget of Rs. 294.20 crore for this project. The retaining wall will help control erosion and support infrastructure stability along the riverbank.
