
Minister Nara Lokesh further extended the Australian tour by visiting the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University. He discussed with Marnie Watson, Vice President (Global) of Griffith University, and explored cooperation opportunities. Lokesh also witnessed the university's world-class sports facilities, seeing their cooperation spectrum for learning and training.
On his visit, Lokesh made recommendations for collaborative activities on sustainability, innovation, and public policy. He recommended a formal partnership between Andhra Pradesh and Griffith University on academic partnership. In his report, he recommended the establishment of a research and student exchange center in Andhra Pradesh to enable coordination and sharing of knowledge.
Lokesh spoke about partnership collaboration between Andhra Pradesh state universities and Griffith University in syllabus development and certification courses for skills. He offered collaborative research studies in solar and wind power, public health, and water management. He proposed the twinning or double-degree initiatives with Andhra Pradesh state universities of eminence and Griffith University.
The Minister emphasized further scholarships and exchange programs to build students and teachers. He also invited Griffith University for the Visakhapatnam Partnership Conference on 14th and 15th November. Lokesh also proposed collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Ratan Tata Innovation Hub to make more space available for startups and emerging entrepreneurs.
