The leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha for not questioning U.S. President Donald Trump over his claim that he stopped a possible military clash between India and Pakistan. Gandhi said that if Trump’s statement is false, then Modi must come before the public and deny it.
Rahul Gandhi asked why the Prime Minister has not addressed the issue or clarified India's position. He added that Modi is avoiding visiting the United States because he is unwilling to confront Trump directly.
Addressing election rallies in Nalanda and Sheikhpura, Bihar, Gandhi attacked Modi for his silence on Trump's statement. "Can Modi say in Bihar that Trump did not stop Operation Sindoor? Can he talk openly about it?" he asked. He remembered his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, always speaking fearlessly on such matters.
Comments on Economy and Employment Rahul Gandhi accused business groups close to the Prime Minister of buying land in Bihar at cheap prices without creating jobs for the local youth. He said he wants to see “Made in Bihar” labels on products like mobile phones and electronic devices, but claimed that Modi’s government has failed to support such initiatives. Warning Against Constitutional Threats Gandhi alleged that the BJP and RSS were trying to weaken the Indian Constitution and urged the people of Bihar to resist such attempts. He added that if the India Alliance comes to power, it will form a government that supports farmers, workers, Dalits, and weaker communities. Call for Change in Bihar He thus concluded that Bihar should not remain a state known only for sending laborers to other regions but should grow through local industries and employment opportunities.
