Key Leadership Appointment
- The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has appointed Nara Lokesh as the Working President. He currently serves as a minister. Palla Srinivasa Rao will continue as the Andhra Pradesh State President of the party.
- The party has released its Politburo members along with National Committee and State Committee members. Ram Mohan Naidu, Byreddy Shabari, and Rajesh Kilaru have been appointed as National General Secretaries.
Approach to Committee Formation
- The party established new committees which aimed to include all social groups. It balanced representation between senior leaders and new members. The leadership allocated roles based on evaluation of loyalty alongside work history and professional background.
- The party also appointed members who missed out on governmental posts through nominations to certain positions. This step aimed to maintain internal balance. Party President Chandrababu Naidu led the process and reviewed political factors before finalizing the structure.
Structure of the Committees
The party organized the committees into three main groups:
- The Politburo has 29 members.
- The National Committee has 31 members.
- The State Committee has 185 members.
The organization functions through the following essential positions.
- The organization has three National General Secretaries.
- The organization has 18 National Vice Presidents.
- The organization has 10 National Official Spokespersons.
At the state level:
- The organization has 7 State General Secretaries.
- The organization has 16 State Vice Presidents.
- The organization has 14 State Official Spokespersons.
- The organization has 10 State Zonal Coordinators.
- The organization has 59 State Executive Secretaries.
- The organization has 77 State Secretaries.
Representation and Inclusion
- The party established direct representation which enables grassroots members to participate in decision-making. Gantyada Sridevi, a Mandal-level Party President, and Guthikonda Dhanunjay, a Cluster In-charge, have been included in the Politburo.
- Women received 50 positions in the 185-member State Committee. The party also ensured representation for women in the Politburo and National Committee.
Social and Regional Balance
The committees follow proportional representation. The party considered social and regional factors during selection.
Out of 185 State Committee members, 122 belong to marginalized sections:
- Backward Classes (BC): 77 members
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 25 members
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7 members
- Minority communities: 13 members
Focus on Future Elections
Chandrababu Naidu led a detailed review process before forming the committees. The party designed this structure with a focus on long-term strategy. The preparations aim at strengthening the party ahead of the 2029 elections.
