Action to Remove Damage of Cyclone Done Instantly

  • Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan directed officials to initiate immediate action to clear the uprooted trees and electric poles that were wrecked by Cyclone Montha. On Wednesday, he convened a review meeting with district collectors of cyclone-hit districts and sought feedback from field officials on the extent of the damage.
  • He instructed that restoration activities should be placed on a war footing to restore normalcy in affected cyclone areas at the earliest opportunity.

Public Safety and Relief Measures

  • Though the cyclone had weakened, the rain event continued in most locations. Pawan Kalyan instructed officials to shift people to safety places and provide accommodation and food in rehabilitation centers.
  • He also underscored the importance of carrying out sanitation activities after the rains have stopped to prevent health risks. During the review, he was informed of the damages that were caused by heavy rains and strong winds.

Monitoring of Overflowing Rivers and Streams

The police officers were ordered to remain alert as Gundlakamma river in Prakasam district and Penna river and local streams in Nellore district were in full spate. Pawan Kalyan directed teams to be alert and ensure public protection in such vulnerable areas.
