Location and Construction Plan
- The retaining wall will stand on the right side of the Krishna River. The construction work will start at a distance of 0.9 kilometers from the Prakasam Barrage. The wall will extend up to 2.610 kilometers along the riverbank.

Long-Pending Demand of Local Residents
- During severe floods people who live near the river experience intense fear. The residents of Sitanagaram and Mahanadu face panic attacks during periods of high water.
- Nara Lokesh made a commitment during his election campaign to solve this problem. The retaining wall project aims to provide a permanent solution. This step enables the implementation of a proposal which has been waiting for several decades to proceed by bringing it forward.
Expected Benefits for Local Communities
The retaining wall will protect several low-lying areas from flood damage. The areas which will benefit from this protection include:
- Sundaraya Nagar
- Mahanadu
- Sitanagaram
Approximately 50,000 people reside in these areas. After the wall construction finishes it will decrease flood dangers while it protects these communities.
