RTC Workers’ Protests And Government Response In Telangana

Workers in Telangana's RTC system are raising complaints about their ongoing issues which remain unaddressed. The government has announced its efforts to find a solution. People currently engage in both discussion activities and protest actions.

Chief Minister’s Appeal

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged workers not to take hasty decisions. He said extreme actions do not solve problems. He asked them to wait for talks and assured them the government is addressing the issue.

Government Action

The Chief Minister instructed his ministers to conduct discussions with trade unions. The meeting will take place on Friday. The discussions will be led by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

Workers’ Response and Protest Plan

The RTC Joint Action Committee conducted an emergency meeting. Leaders announced a series of protests:

• April 24: Silent protests at depots
• April 25: “Vanta Varpu” (community cooking)
• April 26: District-level marches
• April 27: Memorandums and Bathukamma protest by women
• April 29: Semi-nude demonstrations
