
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh requested collaboration in promoting heritage tourism in Andhra Pradesh during his visit to Australia. Lokesh requested Victoria's Tourism and Sports Minister, Steve Dimopoulos, to discuss possible collaboration. Lokesh proposed holding joint training camps and friendly matches in cricket and hockey between the two states.
He emphasized the key tourist destinations of Andhra Pradesh such as Papikondalu and Visakhapatnam Beach, and expressed special interest in adopting Victoria's approach to environmental branding as in the Great Ocean Road. Lokesh also highlighted the need for training courses in event management for improving tourism-related skills in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh also discussed with the University of Tasmania officials. The meeting focused on cooperation in developing changing pharmacy and paramedical course syllabi for the universities of Andhra Pradesh.
Both the sides also discussed potential collaborative research in rural healthcare and drinking water management. They also agreed on the requirement for benchmarking of skill certification for pharmacy students to connect them with international standards.
