Minister Nara Lokesh announced that Visakhapatnam will emerge as a primary IT center within the upcoming decade. He announced that the city will develop beyond Hyderabad as the leading city for IT development.
Lokesh spoke at the “AI Shakti Conclave” which took place in Visakhapatnam. The event received support from Google as its organizing partner. He spoke to industry leaders and government officials during his presentation.
He explained that the government is working to build a full IT ecosystem in the city. He said that establishing data centers by itself does not meet operational requirements. Proper management and operations are also necessary.
Lokesh said that the main goal is to bring more industries to Andhra Pradesh. He stressed the need to create job opportunities for young individuals. He said that all businesses which establish operations in the state will receive government assistance.
He reported that 25 percent of total investments in India now flow toward Andhra Pradesh. He said the government will conduct weekly reviews. The reviews will monitor how businesses and initiatives develop throughout the state.
