Pakistan Is Its Own Biggest Challenge Says Ravichandran Ashwin

The former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his opinion about the current dispute with Pakistan which exists before the 2026 T20 World Cup. He stated that Pakistan creates its own challenges yet he expects an India–Pakistan match will occur at some point in the future.

The Upcoming India–Pakistan Match Between India And Pakistan

  • Ashwin predicted that Pakistan would change its position during the following four to five days. He confirmed that the India–Pakistan match would happen without doubt. He shared these comments on his YouTube channel and said he was looking forward to watching the contest.
  • Pakistan recently boycotted a scheduled match against India on February 15 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The decision was taken in support of Bangladesh.

Persistent Boycotting Will Lead to The Following Results

  • Ashwin explained that Pakistan faces severe consequences when it chooses to avoid matches against India. He stated that Pakistan would suffer substantial financial damage. He explained that television networks would experience revenue declines while cricket organizations would encounter difficulties managing their operations.
  • According to Ashwin, the issue would be discussed in an ICC meeting. He said that if the current situation continued foreign players would not obtain No Objection Certificates required for participation in the Pakistan Super League.

The Main Problem Does Not Relate to The Venue

  • Ashwin pointed out that India and Pakistan already have established international matches which take place at neutral sites. He said teams should not refuse to face particular opponents based on venue selection. He described such a stance as unacceptable at the international level.
  • He concluded that Pakistan’s approach is the main cause of the issue and said the team is harming its own interests.
