Under19 World Cup India Reaches Final With Record Chase

The Under-19 ODI World Cup 2026 semi-final match concluded with India securing victory through their dominant display. The team maintained an undefeated streak throughout the tournament after they won against Afghanistan with a seven-wicket victory. India completed their successful run chase by reaching 311 runs within 41.1 overs.

India Achieved Powerful Batting Success

  • Aaron George who opened the batting led the run chase by scoring a controlled century. He achieved 115 runs from 104 balls with his batting performance which included 15 base hits and two six-base hits. Vaibhav Suryavanshi provided quick momentum with 68 runs from 33 balls. His innings included nine fours and four sixes.

  • Captain Ayush Matre added stability with 62 runs off 59 balls. Vihan Malhotra supported well and remained unbeaten on 38. India achieved their target with ease to advance to the final match. The team will face England in the final on Friday February 6.

Afghanistan Posts a Competitive Total

  • After winning the toss Afghanistan chose to bat first. The team scored 310 runs for the loss of four wickets in 50 overs. Faisal Shinowari scored 110 runs from 93 balls at number three. Uzairullah batting at number four remained unbeaten on 101 runs from 86 balls.
  • Usman Sadat and Khalid Ahmadzai established the opening partnership by scoring 39 and 31 runs respectively. Shinowari and Uzairullah shared a 148-run partnership for the third wicket. Afghanistan scored 111 runs in the final 10 overs. In the 44th over, Uzairullah hit a six followed by three fours which helped him collect 21 runs.
  • Kanishk Chauhan and Deepesh Devendran each secured two wicket victories for India.
