
Accenture has approached the Andhra Pradesh administration seeking 10 acres of land in Visakhapatnam. Accenture plans to build a new campus and create about 12,000 jobs in phases. The approach was made under the same land allotment process for other IT companies. The offer is being considered by the officials, and permission will be granted soon.
Accenture employs about 7.9 lakh people worldwide. More than 3 lakh of them are placed in India. After the pandemic, the majority of the IT companies have started to increase their operations in tier-2 towns. Visakhapatnam is among the preferred locations these days.
The state government introduced a new IT policy after the coalition government was formed. The policy includes huge subsidies to attract IT companies. Approximately 150 small, medium, and large-scale companies are already operational in Madhurwada IT Hills and other parts of Visakhapatnam.
Accenture presented its business operations, employment potential, and growth proposals to the state administration. The firm is in the process of establishing for growth in Visakhapatnam with government support.
