AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Praises Team For Effective Cyclone Montha Management

No Loss of Life or Property Reported During Cyclone Montha

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that no loss of life and property occurred due to the Cyclone Montha. A felicitation ceremony at the CM’s camp office gave certificates and mementos as a token of appreciation to several persons who rendered excellent service during the cyclone, declaring them “Cyclone Montha Fighters”.

The Chief Minister claimed that early warnings and awareness among the public averted casualties in the incident: “We shared cyclone information with citizens in advance. A person who was being swept away in the Parchuru stream was identified and rescued using a drone. We also rescued 15 people trapped by floodwaters near a prayer hall. The drainage of floodwater was completed quickly. The use of technology and the cooperation of officials and public representatives made this possible,” he said.

Technology and Team Coordination Ensured Safety

Naidu mentioned the two perennially recurring natural challenges Andhra Pradesh faces: drought in Rayalaseema and cyclones in Coastal Andhra. He said the state has managed to reduce drought impact in Rayalaseema through efficient water management and infrastructure development.

“During Cyclone Montha, we formed a special team of officials and provided technical support to them. They worked efficiently and delivered excellent results. We reviewed real-time data, issued timely warnings, and used technology to monitor rainfall and wind intensity. Due to these precautions, we avoided loss of life and property,” the Chief Minister added.
