AP Government School Students Visit Delhi For Science Exposure Tour

As many as 52 students from government schools in Andhra Pradesh are visiting Delhi for a science exposure tour. Officials have selected two students from every district to take part in the educational programme. The tour is jointly being organised by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and AP Science City departments.

First-Day Activities in Ghaziabad

On the first day, students attended an awareness programme on rocket science at the Kite Engineering College, Ghaziabad. Faculty members of the college are training the students on the performance, design, and manufacturing of rockets through practical sessions. The session aims to help students get a basic understanding of how rockets work and how they are built.

Meeting with the Civil Aviation Minister

Students are also scheduled to meet Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu at 5 PM. The students would be told about the role of civil aviation in India’s technological and scientific development during the meeting.

Visit to a Russian Cultural Center

On Friday, the delegation will visit the Russian Culture Center in Delhi. The Russian officials will brief the students on the India-Russia space collaboration and the production of Sputnik, a milestone in the history of space. The idea behind the visit is to make the students aware of how important international cooperation is in space-related research.

Final Day Activities

Then, on Saturday, the students will go on a tour to major science institutions in Delhi: the National Science Museum, the Rocket Workshop, the Model Rocket Making Center, Nehru Planetarium, and the Prime Minister’s Museum. These visits aim to increase the interest of students in science and innovation through direct exposure to real-world applications.
