Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu declared that Google would be setting up a 1-gigawatt data center in Visakhapatnam with an investment of ₹50,000 crore. He announced this while speaking at the India–Europe Business Conference held at Novotel, Visakhapatnam.
Chandrababu said that rapid technological changes were transforming industries. He also underlined the contribution of Indians in the IT sector globally and spoke about the strong business relationship of India with Europe.
The CM announced that a quantum computing center would come up in Amaravati. The state government is simplifying procedures to attract investment and strengthen infrastructure.
He explained that Andhra Pradesh is now progressing with a "speed of doing business" policy. The government is connecting ports and railways to enhance logistics. He also pointed out that the skilled and innovative youth in the state are a major strength for industries.
“Invest in Andhra Pradesh; we ensure there will be no delay in approvals,” he said. Investors, according to him, will receive all permissions within 45 days and will also get incentives for quick production.
Naidu said that India aimed at producing 500 gigowatts of green energy. Andhra Pradesh's contribution should be 160 gigowatts towards the national goal. The state is concentrating on solar, wind, and pumped energy sectors to strengthen the production of renewable energy.
He said the state is promoting several industries, including drone and space technology. A drone city will be built for large-scale production of drones, while another for space will also be developed. The state is expanding its port infrastructure to facilitate better transportation and trade prospects.
The event was also attended by Bharat Forge Vice Chairman Amit Kalyani, besides chairpersons and CEOs of various companies, along with representatives from the CII.
