Government Orders Probe into the Accident
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that an official inquiry has been ordered into the road accident that occurred in Chevella mandal, Rangareddy district. He said the government will support the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
Compensation for the Dead and Injured
The minister announced compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs. 2 lakh for the injured in the accident. He made this statement after visiting the Chevella Government Hospital, where the injured victims are undergoing treatment.
Details of the Accident and Victims
- Official reports indicated that 19 people died in the bus accident, of which there were 10 women, 8 men, and one child.
- The postmortems are being conducted at the Chevella Government Hospital. As many as 13 bodies have been identified and their family members informed by the police.
- Care of the Injured - Medical Minister Prabhakar said the injured victims are being given proper medical treatment. He said the Telangana State RTC will also provide Rs. 2 lakh to the families of the deceased.
