CM Chandrababu took stock of the health department at the Secretariat. The discussion covered the Sanjeevani project in Kuppam and the Universal Health Scheme. The Sanjeevani project will start across the Chittoor district in January. After that, the government plans to expand it across the state.
The meeting also reviewed the construction progress of the Adoni, Madanapalle, Markapuram and Pulivendula medical colleges. Accordingly, the colleges are under construction in the first phase of the PPP model. The aim is to benefit students, people and society in general. Regarding the model, teaching hospitals might be made available more quickly.
On the occasion of World Fisheries Day, CM Chandrababu extended greetings to fishermen and aqua farmers. He pointed out that the long coastline, delta areas, lakes, and reservoirs strengthen Andhra Pradesh's position in the blue economy. He said the fisheries sector contributes significantly to the GSDP.
Exhorting the Gangaputras, he said the government is encouraging fishermen and aqua farmers with incentives to help their operations. He said every family member was given Rs. 20,000 during the ban on fishing under the Matsyakarn Sevalo scheme. He explained that 217 GOs, as requested by the Gangaputras, were cancelled and the rights concerned were transferred to the societies. He said the aqua sector should become a strong support system for Andhra Pradesh.
