Feeling The Heat Telugu States Record Temperatures Near 48C Amid Severe Heatwave

People across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are in this kind of hard summer weather now, with temperatures still climbing fast in many districts. In several towns, the heat pushed past 45 degrees Celsius, and in some places it was nearing 48, like very close to the 48-degree line.

Piduguralla in Andhra Pradesh topped the list with 48.1 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile in Telangana, Mutharam in Peddapalli district and Munagala in Suryapet district hit 46.5 degrees Celsius.

Andhra Pradesh, Intense Heat Everywhere

A lot of Andhra Pradesh saw severe heatwave conditions through the day. In many locations, the mercury crossed 47 degrees Celsius, and it felt relentless.

Top readings that came in from the state were :

  • Vetapalem in Bapatla district — 47.6°C
  • Nandivada in Krishna district — 47.6°C
  • Thorragudipadu in NTR district — 47.4°C
  • Addanki in Prakasam district — 47.4°C
  • Allipalli in Eluru district — 47.3°C
  • Nandanamarella in Markapuram region — 46.6°C
  • Kunavaram in Polavaram region — 46.5°C
  • Kavali in SPSR Nellore district — 46.4°C
  • Tenali in Guntur district — 46°C

Meteorological officials mentioned that above 45 degrees Celsius was recorded in 18 districts across Andhra Pradesh. Also, more than 200 mandals in 20 districts logged temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius. Authorities said the heatwave spell may stay on until Monday.

Telangana Registers Over 46°C Too

Telangana had its own set of very high temperature reports as well, with multiple districts feeling the heat quite sharply.

Key temperature figures from the state include:

  • Chunchupalli in Bhadradri Kothagudem district — 46.4°C
  • Kuravi in Mahabubabad district — 46.3°C
  • Jainath in Adilabad district — 46.2°C
  • Akkannapet in Siddipet district — 46.1°C

Local authorities stated nearly 20 districts in Telangana recorded temperatures above 46 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave Conditions Likely to Continue

Weather officials warned that the intense heat may continue over the next few days. The rising temperatures are affecting daily life, especially for people working outdoors.

Health experts advise residents to stay indoors during afternoon hours, drink enough water, and avoid long exposure to direct sunlight. The continuing heatwave has also increased pressure on water supply and electricity usage in many areas.
