The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will sort of organize this year’s Mahanadu around the theme of “Stree Shakti” which is, basically, about women’s empowerment and their active participation. This two-day event has been kept for the 27th and 28th of this month , and party leaders say they’ll use the moment to talk about welfare programs, development initiatives, and also internal organizational direction goals.
The set of decisions tied to the event were ironed out in a Politburo meeting that was chaired by Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu. They held the meet in a hybrid mode, you know, as part of energy-saving efforts.
Party leadership noted that the Mahanadu proceedings should mirror how crucial women’s empowerment is. Chandrababu Naidu said that the speeches and discussions during the event need to underline the party’s support for women right from its formation , and that the focus should be on steps taken to protect women’s rights, plus encouraging them to take part in welfare and development programs.
He also added that the leaders are likely to discuss how women have contributed to the party and public life through the years , as more than just a side note.
A total of 20 resolutions are planned to be presented during the Mahanadu.
The resolutions, reportedly, include:
Party leaders said these resolutions will touch governance, welfare, political developments, and the regional concerns that people are facing, in a more complete way.
The Politburo meeting was held virtually , to back energy conservation efforts . Chandrababu Naidu , and the TDP Working President Nara Lokesh joined from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, that is it.
Minister Atchannaidu , State Party President Palla Srinivasa Rao , and senior leader Varla Ramaiah participated from the party headquarters. Other members joined online from different places too , and the whole thing lasted around two and a half hours.
Even with this hybrid setup , Chandrababu said the event has to keep the usual spark , plus strong involvement from party workers, without turning it into something dull.
The TDP leadership is aiming for involvement across the entire party , from top level leaders down to the grassroots workers as well .
Chandrababu urged party supporters to hoist the party flags at their homes two days before the program starts , and he also mentioned how the schedule should be organized so people can join in more easily.
Some leaders felt it might be better to do it at the Mandal level , using display screens, but Chandrababu leaned towards the cluster based format . He said it would help more workers take part in the celebrations, in a smoother manner.
He also explained that Mahanadu is a meaningful get together for party cadres, and supporters who turn up every time.
The Mahanadu sessions will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on both days, same timing throughout.
Members of the National Committee, State Committee , and the Politburo will attend the proceedings at the party headquarters . More than 60 leaders are expected to give speeches during the event , so it will be busy for sure.
The speakers will be picked in advance, then trained through this two-day prep program at the party office . It’s meant to help coordination a bit more and make sure the speeches somehow line up with the event’s themes , without drifting off.
Party leaders pinned down six major discussion themes for the Mahanadu , like these titles below , no fuss:
Also during the Politburo meeting, leaders went over national and international political developments too. They talked about what’s happening in West Asia , and how political conditions are shifting across different Indian states.
Chandrababu noted that public frustration and political indiscipline had already hit some regional parties in the last elections.
Beyond politics and welfare talks , Chandrababu suggested adding a session on mixing modern life with spirituality, so the society can become more peaceful , or at least happier.
He also urged party leaders to back renewable energy, plus raise environmental awareness. He asked leaders to install solar power panels at their homes, and to encourage electric bicycles among the public, step by step.
In his view, political leaders should act as role models by choosing environmentally friendly habits in their everyday routines .
