Major Investment Agreement Signed
Hinduja Group has announced a Rs 20,000 crore investment in Andhra Pradesh. An agreement to this effect was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The company will make investments in a number of sectors in different phases.
The investment includes:
- These include the expansion of the Hinduja Power Plant at Visakhapatnam by 1,600 MW.
- Setting up of Solar and Wind power projects in Rayalaseema.
- Setting up electric buses and light vehicle manufacturing units at Mallavalli in Krishna district.
- Installation of EV charging stations across the state.
Meeting Between Chandrababu Naidu and Hinduja Group
- Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is on a visit to London, met Hinduja Group India Chairman Ashok Hinduja, Europe Chairman Prakash Hinduja and Hinduja Renewables Founder Show A. Hinduja.
- The CM showcased the investment potential of the State, besides assuring them of the different incentives offered by the government. He also assured the Hinduja Group of all help and a conducive atmosphere for the growth of industries.
- The Chief Minister assured that all investment proposals would be tracked in a fast-track system for quick implementation and would provide large-scale employment opportunities to the youth of the state.
- After the meeting, the Hinduja Group said that it was committed to expanding its business operations in Andhra Pradesh.
Focus on Green Energy and Electric Mobility
The investments by Hinduja Group would make Andhra Pradesh a hub for green energy and electric mobility, said the Chief Minister. The representatives of the company would soon visit Amaravati, Anantapur, and Kurnool districts to explore sites for the proposed electric mobility hub.
Hinduja is currently operating a 1,050 MW thermal power plant at Visakhapatnam. The group will further add two new units of 800 MW each. The company will also establish a network of electric charging stations in the state. These projects will pave the way for strengthening the renewable energy infrastructure in the state and promoting eco-friendly transportation.
