The Civil Aviation Minister of India Ram Mohan Naidu wants to make India the third-largest drone market in the world by 2030. He shared this goal during a meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The minister met with Civil Aviation Ministry officials and drone industry representatives. The minister assessed all research operations and all existing component production capabilities which India currently possesses. The minister assessed all development work that has been completed in the sector until this point.
The participants discussed all recent advancements which have occurred in drone technology design and component production methods. The participants also highlighted challenges faced by the industry and discussed future requirements. The minister requested industry representatives to explain which types of government assistance would help them solve these problems.
The minister ordered his staff to help the organization achieve its target of becoming the third-largest global drone market by 2030. The minister explained that domestic manufacturers achieve their highest level of innovation through partnerships with external organizations. The minister connected this initiative to Make in India by showing how it will develop native Indian drone technology.
