Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said today that the ongoing CII Summit in Visakhapatnam received investments worth Rs.13 lakh crore. He said the state secured total investments of Rs.22 lakh crore during the last 18 months.
He virtually inaugurated new units in Sri City during the event. The officials signed agreements with various companies to establish 12 new projects in the area. Chandrababu claimed that these investments would provide opportunities for 12,365 jobs.
Sri City Development Plans
Chandrababu said Sri City was built by the Government with a clear development plan. He pointed out that firms like Daikin, Isuzu, and Cadbury manufactured from Sri City and supplied products to global markets.
He called for more and varied international industries to set up their establishments at Sri City Industrial Township. He also said that 6,000 acres of additional land will be allotted shortly to Sri City by the government for its future projects.
In a few years, Sri City will have companies operating from 50 countries, said Chandrababu. He further said that the area will provide 1.5 lakh jobs and grow into a major development model by 2028. The minister has maintained that the aim is to accelerate the industrial development and job opportunities to many more people.
