The YSRCP leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused others of creating and disseminating incorrect information about the animal fat content in the ghee used for Tirupati laddus. The CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) charge sheet contains evidence which proves that former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu misled the public through his public statements.
CBI Findings on Ghee Quality
- Jagan states that the CBI charge sheet proves that ghee contained no animal fat. He claimed that laboratory findings from central government institutions, which included the National Dairy Development Board and the National Dairy Research Institute, confirmed this result. He explained that these reports originated from samples which were taken when Chandrababu Naidu served as Chief Minister and his designated officer worked at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Office.
- Jagan provided evidence that former TTD chairmen Y.V. Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy dedicated their service to the YSRCP government while maintaining their innocence according to the charge sheet findings. He challenged Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh to present which laboratory tests demonstrated that animal fat existed in the ghee.
Allegations of Political Misuse of Religious Sentiment
- Jagan accused his political opponents of spreading misinformation and using religious sentiment for political purposes. He stated that devotees had always consumed the Tirupati laddu prasad with faith and he claimed that the dispute destroyed its sacred nature.
- He made these comments while speaking to the media after visiting the family of Jogi Ramesh in Ibrahimpatnam to offer condolences. Jagan made the trip from Tadepalli to Ibrahimpatnam on Friday to visit the family.
Jagan demanded an apology from Chandrababu Naidu
- Jagan mentioned a July 2024 occurrence when TTD rejected four ghee tankers because they contained adulterated substances during Chandrababu Naidu's period as Chief Minister. He stated that the CBI charge sheet mentions the same tankers were later used under different names for laddu preparation. Based on this he demanded that Chandrababu Naidu apologize to the public.
- He described the investigation committee that Chandrababu Naidu established to study ghee adulteration as a misleading organization which lacked proper investigative authority.
Official queries about TTD operational procedures and public safety enforcement measures
- Jagan stated that Anil Kumar Singhal became TTD Executive Officer during Chandrababu Naidu's first administration and remained in that position. The official response from him revealed that the Singhal reappointment occurred after the first administration because he committed errors. The CBI discovered that ghee tankers had been rejected during Shyamala Rao's time in office so they were reused without proper handling procedures.
- Jagan accused police officers of protecting YSRCP leaders Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh whose homes were attacked. He reported that assailants had used petrol bombs and acid bottles to attack Jogi Ramesh's residence. Jagan claimed that the political motive behind these activities aimed to prevent new leaders from becoming successful. Jagan declared that Jogi Ramesh faced accusations in multiple legal matters and he would ensure that all guilty parties faced punishment after his political party achieved victory.
