Jubilee Hills Victory Increases Government Responsibility Revanth Reddy

Congress Gains More Public Confidence in Hyderabad

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the Congress victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election increased the government's responsibility. He spoke at a media conference held after Congress candidate Naveen Yadav won with a big majority. The CM said that Hyderabad voters have shown more confidence in the Congress after the assembly elections. He thanked the people of Jubilee Hills and the party workers who worked for Yadav's win. He said that during the assembly elections, the Congress did not receive strong results in Hyderabad, but voters evaluated two years of Congress governance and delivered their decision.

Vote Share Increase Strengthens Congress Position

Revanth Reddy said that in the 2023 assembly elections, Congress secured 39% of votes. In the Lok Sabha elections six months later, the vote share went up to 42%. In the by-election in Jubilee Hills, Congress won 51% of votes. He said that welfare-oriented schemes by the government had the people's backing. He stated that Congress does not get overconfident or disappointed either way with the results. He said it's the duty of the party to be with the people and look after their problems. As Hyderabad contributes around 65% of the state revenue, he said the government would not stop strengthening the city further. He said the new plans are designed to make Hyderabad a city with no major civic issues.

Central Permissions Delay Quells Apprehension

He faulted Union Minister Kishan Reddy for not according approval to several projects, including Metro expansion and Musi river. He said BJP vote numbers have dropped sharply in Kishan Reddy's constituency, decreasing from 65,000 to 17,000 votes. Revanth Reddy said people have gauged the functioning of this minister and responded in the right manner. He termed the Jubilee Hills result as the warning signal to BJP. He warned that with these trends continuing, the party may face a greater setback. He urged central ministers to stop political obstruction and support projects dear to Telangana's development.

Revanth Reddy Responds to Opposition Leader KTR

The Chief Minister asked KTR to decrease what he termed jealousy and arrogance. He said posts are temporary, and everyone must be on the ground. He told KTR not to depend on fabricated news or surveys with misleading results. He repeated his earlier statements that the BJP would fare poorly in the elections, and he maintained that prediction. Revanth Reddy thanked AIMIM and Asaduddin Owaisi for the support given in Jubilee Hills. He said alliances may differ according to each state’s conditions.

Upcoming Political Decisions and State Matters He said that he has not gone through the results in Bihar. The cabinet will discuss the schedule and process for the local body elections on the 17th of this month. He mentioned that former Chief Minister KCR is less active because of health problems and, as of now, there is no need to comment on him. Revanth Reddy said the Congress will govern for the next ten years, and the government will continue to work towards visible improvements in the state. PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and several ministers attended the meeting.
