Konaseema Coconut Farmers Receive Assurance From Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan

Visit to Konaseema District

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has toured Konaseema district to meet coconut farmers who suffered losses on account of damage due to the Shankaraguptam drain. He interacted with farmers at Keshanapalli and heard their issues directly. He said he would study the issue from the root and seek assistance from the Centre. He said he would represent the voices of Konaseema coconut farmers.

Commitment to Long-Term Solutions

Pawan Kalyan said he did not come to the region just to announce Rs. 22 crore funds and leave in a hurry. He announced that the government would prepare an action plan to resolve drain-related problems across Konaseema after Sankranti. The government was correcting mistakes of the previous administration and placing the correct status of the state’s finances before the people, he said. He asserted that youngsters would not even believe statements that are not factual.

Remarks to Officials

During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister addressed the officials as well. He went through the report on the Shankaraguptam drain and called for full awareness of the challenges coconut farmers face. In this regard, he asked why the encroachments on the drain were not dealt with earlier, pointing out that the previous Rosaiah Committee report had been ignored.
