Looking At West Bengal PM Modis Perspective

The Prime Minister of India Modi spoke about West Bengal during his speech. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that seeing West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, he feels concerned. The state requires a political transformation, according to him. Modi also expressed a plan to transform Bengal into a “golden bungalow.” In an open letter to the people of West Bengal he shared these thoughts on Monday. The letter comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

Government Cooperation and Welfare Initiatives

Modi mentioned that the state government does not cooperate properly with central schemes. He highlighted several initiatives:

  • Approximately 5 crore people in Bengal opened accounts under the Jan Dhan Yojana.
  • Through the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 85 lakh toilets were constructed.
  • The Atal Pension Yojana provided benefits to 56 lakh elderly citizens.
  • The Ujjwala Yojana provided LPG connections to approximately 1 crore families.
  • Through the Kisan Samman Nidhi program 52 lakh farmers received direct financial assistance.
  • The TMC government creates obstacles for poor people who want to find work according to him.

Concerns About Violence and Safety

  • The West Bengal region used to hold an important economic position in Indian history according to Modi. The state currently faces multiple challenges according to him. 
  • The state experiences youth unemployment which drives young people to leave.
  • Some areas of the state have created dangerous conditions for women.
  • The political system suffered severe damage because political parties spent decades on appeasement.
  • He said that Bengal which once followed Swami Vivekananda and Aurobindo Ghose now faces political violence and unstable voting patterns.

Call for Transformation

The Prime Minister of India Modi asked citizens to reconstruct Bengal during his speech. He called for the state to reach developed status by 2026 through dedicated efforts.
