MLAs Seek Leadership Change In Karnataka

The Karnataka Congress party is currently selecting its Chief Minister from its ongoing discussions. A group of party MLAs has requested the party high command to choose Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar for the position according to their recent statements.

Statement by MLA Iqbal Hussain

MLA Iqbal Hussain revealed that around 80 to 90 MLAs have submitted a request to the party leadership. They have asked the high command to give D K Shivakumar an opportunity to serve as Chief Minister. This statement has drawn attention within political circles and the media.

Decision with the High Command

Iqbal Hussain stated that the final decision rests entirely with the party high command. He emphasized that the Congress is a disciplined party and that all leaders and workers should follow party discipline. He pointed out that public discussions about who leads the organization should not take place because they lead to misunderstandings.

Call for Restraint and Discipline

Iqbal also noted that repeated public endorsements of specific leaders should not occur. He emphasized that maintaining organizational unity requires members to avoid making statements which might create internal conflicts. The majority of MLAs support D K Shivakumar for Chief Minister but he wants these views to stay within the organization instead of being shared with the public.
