Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Saffron Aircraft Engine Services facility in Hyderabad. He assured full support and cooperation from the central government to the company. PM Modi said that the aviation sector in India has been developing very fast in recent years. He said that India has already ordered 1,500 aircraft. He added that an aircraft service center in India is very helpful. The PM also expressed satisfaction with the government’s concentration on the development of MSMEs and said that some sectors are now open to 100 percent foreign investment.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy thanked Saffron for choosing Hyderabad for its facility. He said this will be contributing to the growth of the city. The CM explained that Hyderabad is fast emerging as an aerospace and aviation hub. He also mentioned that a number of aviation companies and experts are present in the city. He assured all necessary support from the Telangana government to Saffron.
Union Minister Rammohan Naidu said that the future cost of aircraft manufacturing would come down drastically with the establishment of Saffron Aircraft Engine Services. He added that these benefits would also reach the passengers. Naidu explained that India depends heavily on countries like Singapore and Malaysia for aircraft engine services. He expressed satisfaction that such services have now started in India. He credited it to the “self-reliant India” policy being implemented by Prime Minister Modi. Naidu also highlighted that Hyderabad is emerging as an aviation hub.
