President Draupadi Murmu declared that the Indian Navy serves as an essential force which protects India's maritime boundaries while safeguarding international shipping lanes. She made these remarks during the International Fleet Review (IFR) held off the coast of Visakhapatnam.
The President sailed aboard INS Sumedha while 71 warships performed a ceremonial salute. The event received attendance from several dignitaries. The group included S. Abdul Nazeer who served as Governor N. Chandrababu Naidu who worked as Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan who held Deputy Chief Minister duties Union Minister Rammohan Naidu and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi.
International Fleet Review Highlights Global Cooperation
The President showed naval officers and international guests the importance of maritime partnerships. The Indian Navy establishes diplomatic connections with other nations while it works to develop military ties with foreign naval forces according to her statement.
She described the IFR as a display of unity which demonstrates that both nations share mutual trust while they continue to respect their existing partnership with other countries. Warships displaying various national flags demonstrated international cooperation. She demonstrated that she participated in the Fleet Review to improve both diplomatic and defense ties.
The President mentioned the Government of India's Mahasagar policy. She expressed hope that the event would further advance this maritime vision.

The President stated that India has maintained a maritime relationship with the oceans since ancient times. She explained that oceans have enabled trade and cultural exchange between nations throughout history.
She recalled the maritime activities during the rule of the Kalinga kings. Sailors from Odisha traveled to Southeast Asian regions for trade. Communities welcomed their return
