Pawan Kalyan Appreciates Hyderabad Police For Action Against Piracy

AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan lauded the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Team and City Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar. His remarks come a day after the team arrested Ibomma organizer Immadi Ravi. Members of the film industry, during a recent meeting with Commissioner Sajjanar, thanked the latter for the police investigation and the arrests.

Pawan Kalyan said films made by investing money and creative effort are coming out online on the same day of release. He said this situation is causing irreparable loss to the film industry. According to him, directors and producers cannot take action on their own against piracy groups. He said that the Hyderabad Police closed the websites of iBomma and Bappam after arresting its admin. He said that the operation was successful at a time when the piracy group became audacious enough to challenge the police department. He congratulated the police team for the work and Commissioner Sajjanar.

He also added that the police are concentrating on betting networks and Ponzi schemes. He elaborated that such scams inflict financial losses on the public. He revealed that Sajjanar had strived to rein in betting apps and that these measures have garnered significant attention across several states. Pawan Kalyan said that the commissioner's actions would benefit Telugu cinema as well as Indian cinema in general.

Commissioner Sajjanar told the media that piracy has inflicted severe losses upon the film sector. He said that the arrest of Ibomma manager Immadi Ravi was done to put an end to this mischief, adding that four more cases have now been booked under the IT Act and the Copyright Act.
