Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya for the scheduled flag hoisting at Ayodhya Ram Temple. The temple complex was all decked up in anticipation of the ceremony. Ahead of the programme, PM Modi undertook a road show in the city.
At Maharshi Valmiki International Airport, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel welcomed PM Modi. Following the reception, he moved through Ayodhya in a road show that was conducted under tight security. Children and women came out to greet him with flowers during the procession.
After the road show, PM Modi offered prayers at the Sheshavatar Temple that is located in the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple premises. He then visited the newly constructed Sapta Mandir that comprises temples and statues of Maharshi Vasishtha, Vishwamitra, Agastya, Valmiki, Ahalya, Nishadaraj Guha, and Mata Sabari. He also offered prayers to Goddess Annapurna.
