Addressing the launch of the ₹1 lakh crore Research and Development Fund at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Modi emphasized the government's commitment to expanding innovation across the country. He added that India is spending twice as much on research and development as it did in previous years. All these steps, he said, are a reflection of the government's resolve for innovation and technological advancement.
The Prime Minister informed that the government has established the Anusandhan Research Foundation to support research and innovation at universities for the creation of new growth opportunities. He said India continues to surge ahead in space research and appreciated scientists from ISRO for their acumen and dedication.
Modi underlined the point that inclusive innovation and technological transformation form the base of major national achievements. He reaffirmed that the new ₹1 lakh crore Research and Development Fund will motivate the private sector to participate more actively in research and innovation activities.
