CM Orders Strict Focus on Public Health

  • The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed his officials to make public health their highest priority. He emphasized that no person should show negligence in their work duties.
  • He held a review meeting to assess two recent incidents. One incident involved milk products that had been tampered with in Rajahmundry. The second incident involved multiple cases of diarrhea that occurred in Srikakulam. The medical and health department senior officials attended the meeting. The district authorities joined the meeting.

Review of Health Conditions in Srikakulam

  • The Chief Minister requested information about the health conditions which impacted the affected individuals. The officials reported to him that 76 individuals are receiving treatment in different hospitals in Srikakulam.
  • At Gems Hospital two patients are currently in critical condition. One patient requires ventilator assistance. The other patient requires dialysis treatment. The Chief Minister required doctors to deliver special medical treatment. Officials reported that all other patients maintain stable health conditions.
  • The authorities have discontinued pipeline water delivery to the impacted region. The officials are currently providing safe drinking water through tanker trucks.

Status of Rajahmundry Milk Adulteration Case

  • The officials confirmed that the Rajahmundry victims remain under ongoing medical observation. The authorities have sent milk samples to a laboratory for testing. The laboratory report will determine the next steps which will follow.

  • The departments are currently focusing their resources on this investigation. The Chief Minister ordered his officials to work together with all necessary departments. He stressed the importance of preventing similar occurrences from happening again.
