The second day of the CII Investment Summit continued in Visakhapatnam. The Chief Minister launched Raymond Group's new projects through a virtual foundation-stone ceremony. Gautam Maini, Managing Director of Raymond Group, attended the program in person. Three projects with an investment of ₹1,201 crore will be established by the company in the state.
He said the State government was targeting creation of 20 lakh jobs in next three to four years, and so far during the first 18 months of the present government, the State attracted investments worth ₹20 lakh crore. Raymond Group promised to start its three projects by 2027.
The Chief Minister said the government had already laid foundation stones for Space City and Drone City in Rayalaseema. He underlined that Kia Motors was here, while aerospace and defense corridors were being developed. With growing aircraft requirement, production capacity must increase, he added. He appreciated Raymond Group’s contribution to aerospace and defense manufacturing.
He added that Visakhapatnam was moving ahead to become a global data center hub and the tourism sector was on a high growth trajectory.
